Beyond the Round Braid - with Anna Murphy and Toni Dodough

August 24, 2019
1:00 PM - 4:00 PM

Explore ways to create flat braids with either the round disk or the square plate. Use different fibers, colors, and patterns to create useful embellishments. Would you like a hat band from horsehair or a leather handle for your bag?

In this workshop, you will use two methods to create different braid samples: 8 warp on the round disk; 10 warp on the square plate. We will be using either satin ribbon or wool yarn for your samples.

No experience is needed; all materials will be supplied. Additional patterns will be available for purchase. Completed samples will be on display.

Anna Murphy and Toni Dodough have been teaching kumihimo in the Albuquerque area for several years. They both enjoy other types of crafts such as crochet and card making.
