In this class, you will learn the art/craft of primitive rug hooking using a monks-cloth backing and wool strips, and a simple hook to create a small rug. Students can use their own design/pattern or use one of mine. There will be a great deal of emphasis on color theory in rug hooking. We will be using wool fabric provided by the teacher. Over-dying wool and finishing techniques will also be covered in this class. No experience necessary for this fun and rewarding class.

Material students must provide: Please bring a quilting hoop. All other supplies will be included in a kit, which includes: monks-cloth backing, wool fabric and hook

Peg Collyer is a fiber artist who has been hooking rugs for 40 years. She is a certified McGown Rug Hooking Teacher. Her award-winning rugs have been featured in the Association of Traditional Rug Hooking Artist and Celebrations.
