Get trained on the Thumper, EVFAC's proprietary wet felting machine, while making your own felt handbag or wall hanging out of churro wool. For wall hangings, students will lay out some different colored wool and bits of yarn on a piece of batting to achieve a felted collage.  After this class students will be certified on the thumper so they can rent the machine and make their own felted products.

Materials students should bring: Wear loose clothing and comfortable shoes.

Dain Daller is an artist and weaver who lives and works in an Earthship he and his partner built in Northern New Mexico. Their sustainable home houses three looms and an overwhelming amount of yarn. Both weave under solar power, living completely off the grid, and wash their hand-woven, hand-dyed goods with rainwater collected off the roof. Although hand woven items are all unique, Dain is always looking for new techniques and combinations. He takes formless raw materials such as silk, cotton, linen, wool, rayon, and transforms them into beautiful weavings and felted tapestries.

This class requires a minimum of 2 students for the class to run. See our Class Payment and Refund Policy.
