WARPING A NAVAJO LOOM with Lynda Teller Pete
This workshop will offer students the chance to learn the challenging skill of warping a Navajo upright loom. Those who have some experience can use this opportunity to practice and gain a deeper knowledge of this beautiful art.
Materials students should bring: all materials are provided. Bring lunch or plan on visiting local restaurants.
Lynda Teller Pete is a fifth-generation weaver. Raised near Two Grey Hills on the Navajo Reservation, she began weaving at age 6 , she has gone on to win many awards for her weaving, including Best of Classification for Textiles at the prestigious Santa Fe Indian Market. Lynda is in demand throughout the country as a teacher of Navajo weaving. She is also known as an accomplished beadwork artist, winning many awards for this work as well.
