BEADED KUMIHIMO with Anna Murphy

Students will learn the process of Kumihimo braiding with beads while making a bracelet. Included in the workshop is instruction on how to warp the disk from a pattern.  We will use a foam disk for this workshop, but the use of a marudai (braiding stand) will be demonstrated, and students will take home an original pattern for further practice. Kits will be available for purchase. (This is an advanced class. Students should have taken Intor to Kumihimo)

Materials student should provide: scissors, pen or pencil for note-taking

Materials instructor will provide: All materials including beads, beading mats, disks, original patterns, printed handouts

Anna Murphy Anna Murphy is a Master of Crochet and all-around art enthusiast who also works in jewelry-making, paper crafts and decoupage. She teaches these crafts in Albuquerque, utilizing patterns of her own design. Her crocheted and kumihimo artisan creations have won ribbons in the NM State Fair and will be on display during the Fiber Fiesta this year. Anna is certified as Master of Advanced Crochet Stitches and Techniques from the Crochet Guild of America and a Certified Crochet Instructor from the Craft Yarn Council.
