This workshop is for craftspeople and artists who are curious about using digital media as a creative tool. Students will learn about the digital technology available as tools in art making, and will have the opportunity to try out variety of digital equipment. Designed to break down the fears and angst about using technology, students will be encouraged to explore digital possibilities and have fun with alternative ways to approach their artmaking. This is a workshop for experimenting; it is not a how-to class. Participants must bring an object – a piece they’ve made or some favorite object, and a smartphone if they have one.

Leah is an artist and photographer, who developed her imaging style, merging digital techniques with traditional materials, from her career in film, video, photography and digital media. After receiving a M.A. in Photography and Studio Art from New York University and the International Center of Photography, she started her own video production company, which specialized in performance and experimental work and produced award-winning documentaries. Her drawings and photographs have been exhibited internationally, and are held by private collections as well as in the New Mexico Capitol Art Foundation Collection. Her limited edition digitally-based art-to- wear and functional items can be seen at Shadowland Designs.
