These elegant miniature baskets are made with the main and/or tail hair of horses and are both beautiful and durable.  Colorful waxed thread is used with a whip and slip stitch to join the bundled hair adding another visual element to the design. Feathers and beads offer additional embellishments to complete the design. This is a fun and relaxing class. In the morning we will begin by attaching the horse hair to base and start crafting your basket. After lunch you will have plenty of time to complete and decorate your basket with feathers and beads.

Materials students should provide: cuticle scissors, tapestry needles size 18-22 (available to purchase at EVFAC). Horsehair , beads and feathers will be provided though students are invited to bring elements they would like to include. Any horsehair must be washed, dry and untangled. bring sack lunch(optional)
