Mordants, Modifiers and Blankets - with Sharon Sorken

October 18 - October 20, 2019
10:00 AM - 4:00 PM

Eco dyeing is using real leaves and flowers to obtain prints on fabric using natural dyes.

Students will work with different mordants and modifiers to obtain vibrant colors and variations. The use of cotton flannel blankets soaked in natural dyes will produce clear prints of the leaves and flowers used. Students will work with silk, wool, cotton and cellulose.

On the third day the class will eco dye clothing such as dresses, top, tee shirts and large pieces of fabric.

It is a wonderful adventure into nature!
