SILK ROCK ART SCARVES with Nadina Barnes

March 23, 2018
10:00 AM - 2:00 PM

Inspired by the petroglyphs of New Mexico, in this class students are guided to consider the scarf a canvas, exploring images both graphic and mystical. Students will start with a white silk scarf, dye it with Procion dyes, and then use stencils and brushes with decolorant, a dye remover, to apply zigzags, spirals, mysterious figures and animals to their scarves. With this simple technique, scarves come alive with story.

Class fee includes everything you need to make one amazing scarf. Additional scarves will be available for purchase from EVFAC.
