Spectacular Nuno Felted Scarf - with Perla Kopeloff

Learn to Nuno Felt an ethereal, textured scarf or shawl, blending unspun silk and mohair. The felted product with be natural white. Following felting, the class will dye their scarves with natural dyes – using a variety of natural dyes such as indigo, cochineal, or madder, from EVFAC. The fusion of silk and mohair combined with natural dyes, is spectacular!


Materials students should bring: Apron, plastic bag, tulle or mosquito net (size 80”X20”), bowl for containing water, two towels, and a bottle with holes on the top - or a felting water dispenser or spray bottle

Materials fee includes:  (1) silk chiffon scarf, mohair, unspun silk, natural dyes


Perla Kopeloff has been exhibiting her work in Santa Fe and Taos, and has been doing shows in Southern Colorado. Perla was born in Buenos Aires, Argentina, where graduated as an architect before traveling to Europe. There she experienced design that drew her to fiber art, specifically weaving, felting, and paper-making. Perla creates work that reflects her deep curiosity and interpretation of ancient cultures and contemporary paper-making techniques.
