Natural Dyes 101 with Dain Daller

Natural Dyes 101 with Dain Daller

This fun 2 day course taught students how to extract dye from plants, both local and foreign. Students learned to mordant (prepare) wool yarn for dyeing, and dye it a variety of colors. Dye materials such as Sage, Madder, Snakeweed, Walnut Hulls, Osage Orange, Logwood, and more were all explored! Class participants went home with small skeins of yarn made from the dyes used in this class.
