Upcycled Journal Making Workshop with Chauncy Foster

In this workshop students explored what it takes to turn upcycled paper into hand - made journals. Students did lots of cutting and were taught a unique binding style called buttonhole binding. Our goal was for each person to walk away with a handmade journal.

About the idea: we.grow.eco is a non profit based in Santa Fe, New Mexico. We.grow.eco’s mission is to promote healthy relationships between humans and the environment through supporting and facilitating unifying actions. We.grow.eco first began making junk journals & paper during a project called "The Walk" where the instructor, Chauncey Foster, walked from Virginia Beach, Virginia to San Francisco, California. picking up litter and encouraging others to do the same. This is also the genesis of the paper making. We now facilitate several programs that encourage sustainable, pragmatic and artistic tendencies.
