Learn the meditative art of weaving!

In this workshop you will create a beautiful 5” x 8” textural tapestry. This class introduces frame loom weaving techniques, encouraging exploration of texture, color, and a variety of materials. Students will learn the fundamental elements of weaving including how to set up a loom, while encouraged to play and experiment.

Instruction also covers tapestry design, color blending, and techniques for creating rich, dynamic textures.

Students will leave this workshop with a small wall hanging and 2 sizes of frame looms from Hello Looms, so you can continue your weaving practice anywhere.

All materials are provided for this class.

  • Looms

  • Felted Merino wool

  • Merino wool roving

  • Acrylic yarn in a multitude of colors

  • Scissors

  • Plastic needles

  • Dowel rods

Materials students must provide for class:

  • We encourage students to bring their own scissors as our seem to walk away :)

  • You may bring additional yarn or purchase yarn from the center as well. We have a bunch of low-cost donated yarns that would be great for this class!
