Join artist and educator Andrea Dupree on Zoom for an interactive virtual wet-felting workshop blending fiber art techniques with mindfulness and creative exploration.

Participants will learn how to make a small wool vessel using soap, water, wool and a resist. The workshop begins with a short Mindfulness practice to help participants attune to their breath, body, and materials. Throughout the session, Andrea will use detailed visual and verbal instruction to guide you through key wet-felting techniques including layering, shaping and forming hollow vessels.

No prior experience is needed. Log in from the comfort of home and be ready to work with your hands to create a one-of-a-kind felted vessel.

Materials students must provide:

  • Bubble wrap (one 18" x18" sheet or similar size)

  • Large / 12"-14" Poly Bubble mailer (used is fine) OR 1/8" foam sheet

  • Scissors for cutting Poly Bubble mailer or foam

  • Plate & marker for tracing a circle on Poly Bubble mailer or foam before cutting (optional)

  • Container for water (large mixing bowl or similar size)

  • Kettle or pot for warming water

  • Hand towels & bath towel soap (olive oil soap is best) & small container for holding wet soap sponge,

  • Ball brause sprinkler or small watering can (DIY or store-bought)

  • Tulle netting (18" x 18")

  • Rolling pin or rolling pin-sized pool noodle

  • 4oz Merino wool roving (Roving is available at EVFAC for purchase)

Merino Roving:
You may provide your own roving for this class. If you would like to purchase roving from EVFAC, you may do so. You may purchase the roving in person, or online here for $15, plus $8.95 if you would like it shipped, select “2 Color Class Mix): EVFAC Online Store: 4 oz. Merino Roving.

Materials instructor will provide:

About the Zoom workshop:
This workshop is hosted by Andrea Dupree on Zoom. Participants are asked to set up their workspace in a way that allows for them to see the screen & hear the instructor while also appearing mostly in frame (or able to move into view if needed). For the best experience, please make sure you're familiar with Zoom & your Zoom device, and have your workspace set up prior to the workshop.

About Andrea Dupree: Andrea Dupree is an artist and educator based in Northern New Mexico. Her fiber-based artwork explores themes of interconnectedness, ecology, and spiritual reflection, primarily using hand felting, embroidery, and natural materials. With a background in Studio Arts (BFA) and Early Childhood Education (MA), Andrea brings over 20 years of experience teaching art, mindfulness, and movement. She is a Registered Yoga Teacher and certified Children’s Yoga Instructor, and she believes in the power of creative practice to foster connection, curiosity, and inner stillness. Class must have 5 students to run.

Class COVID-19 policy: There are no COVID-19 restrictions for this class, it is an online, remote Zoom Workshop.

Class cancellation policy:  Please note: All Class cancellations are charged a $15 processing fee in addition to the following policy: Class cancellations 7 days or less prior to first day of class will receive no refund. 8-13 days before beginning of class, students will receive an 80% refund. 14 days or more before beginning of class: Full refund.
