Beginning through advanced sewists: All skill levels welcome.
Join Kuzana in this introductory workshop on jogakbo: the Korean reversible patchwork tradition.
This Korean textile format has its roots in the Chosun dynasty, yet is strikingly contemporary. You will use traditional ramie cloth to piece and hand sew a small pojagi (wrapping cloth).
Each sewn creation will be a uniquely beautiful composition of shapes and lines.
Materials instructor will provide for class:
(Paid directly to the instructor upon arrival: $30) The materials fee covers a unique kit of traditional Jogakbo fabric, high quality and specific needles and thread, a bone folder, and fabric marking pen. Also included are a set of cards which outline the lesson in easy steps. These items will be beautifully packaged in reusable containers. As this requires preparation and time for overseas orders to arrive to the USA, we will need to close registration for the class 6 weeks prior to the start date.
Materials students must provide for class:
Small sharp scissors
A small quilting ruler (some are available at the center for use during class, but if you have one, please bring it to the workshop!)
