DeCoy is bringing all supplies needed for the class, but is also asking students to bring fun and interesting found items to include in their work. These books can include embellishments with ‘found object’ ornamentation.

Students will be introduced to simple fiber bead weaving, stitching, and hand made book making. The process will include brainstorming games, story creation, basic story boarding, as well as character development.

All Materials are included in the Instructor fee:  Size 10 and 8 beads, yarns, threads, fabrics,  paper and canvas to be used as inside pages for your book, needles, looms, white acrylic paint, brushes, plates for paint, colored pencils, pens, graphite pencils, sharpeners, erasers…etc. Students will receive the ’Tripped & Tricked Out’ chapter of deCoy’s ‘COSMIC DUST’ book series (PDF format).

Materials students may provide: Interesting fabrics, yarns/threads, any beads you have and would like to use in addition to those provided, unusual papers, small intriguing objects and any coloring tools they feel you might like to use in the book making.

This is a long class, please bring lunch, snacks, and water!
