Class Minimum: 10 participants
 Class Maximum: 20 participants

Beginner through advanced sewists welcome.

Learn the traditional art of Siddi Quilting with Kuzana!

Siddi quilting (kawandi) is a unique quilting tradition that require no preplanning. Originally developed by African immigrants to India, this art form is excellent for making use of remnants of any size. This art form is mediative and always fresh in format as each work is completely unique.

You will make a Siddi piece in class using a variety of fabrics from Kuzana's extensive collection.

All Materials will be provided by instructor for this class:

  • Textile packets with a collection of blockprinted, ikat, and contemporary Japanese cottons

  • Needle and thread

  • Quilt backing and batting

Please note, the registration for this class closes on August 18th so that materials can be ordered from Korea.

This class needs ten participants to run, encourage your friends to join you!

Please bring water, snacks, and a packed lunch!

About Kuzana Ogg: Kuzana Ogg was born in Bombay and learned several textile traditions from her grandmothers. They instilled a love and respect for all forms of handmade textile ornamentation. She has exhibited her work both nationally and internationally-and is locally represented in Santa Fe by Canyon Road's K Contemporary gallery. She is always working on several pieces in her Los Alamos studio.

Class cancellation policy:  Due to materials being ordered for this class the cancellation fee has been modified, please note the following:

All Class cancellations are charged a $15 processing fee in addition to the following policy:

August 2nd and earlier will receive a full refund.

August 3rd-10th, 2026 will receive an 80% refund.

Class cancellations after August 11th will receive no refund.
