Create a Nuno Felted Cowl or Head Warmer this March 1st with Andrea Dupree.
Join artist and educator Andrea Dupree for a hands-on nuno felting workshop that blends fiber art techniques with mindfulness and creative exploration. Participants will learn the fundamentals of nuno felting, a process that bonds fine wool fibers into silk to create a lightweight flexible felt ideal for wearable art.
The class begins with a short mindfulness-based grounding practice to help participants attune to breath, body, and materials. From there, Andrea will guide the group through the nuno felting process using water, natural soap, wool, and silk. Working slowly and collaboratively, we’ll layer fibers, explore texture and pattern, and shape the felt as it transforms, allowing the materials to inform each step of the design.
In this workshop, students will create a soft, multi-functional wearable piece that can be styled as a cowl or headwarmer, emphasizing both comfort and versatility. Throughout the workshop, we’ll engage the rich sensory qualities of wool and silk and honor the meditative, rhythmic nature of felting.
Come ready to work with your hands and leave with a one-of-a-kind nuno felted accessory and a deeper connection to fiber, form, and wearability.
Materials students should provide:
-Hand towel and large (bath-size) towel optional:
